HARNESSS THE POWER OF SELF HEALING - SELF CARE AND SELF MASSAGE
We can’t all afford a personal masseuse to ease out the tension, soreness, and tight spots in our muscles. But there is a way to massage oneself, with the benefit of being able to control exactly where and how much pressure to apply.
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue to eliminate pain and restore motion.
Benefits of Myofascial release include:
During these classes we will use tennis balls and yoga bricks to apply pressure to trigger points (muscle knots) throughout the whole body to get ourselves back to optimal physical performance. You will leave feeling like you have just had a full body massage.
You will learn many techniques including but not limited to relieving a headache using tennis balls, how to release a stiff upper back and chest using a block and tennis balls, soothe sore feet and legs, and ease general aches and pains.
When you don't have time or money for a massage, or when your yoga practice doesn't penetrate certain tight knots, you can follow the techniques you learn and give yourself the power of these self healing tools.

SELF MASSAGE PRODUCTS I RECOMMEND
SHIATSU NECK MASSAGERS
These are the best thing invented since sliced bread! Honestly I couldn't live without it. Great for injury rehab or just general aches and pains in the body. Although they are called neck massagers, you can use them anywhere on the body. Neck, lower back, glutes, quads and one of my favourites is to use it on my side body around the ribcage where I get particularly tight. |

MASSAGE BALLS
These massage balls are a must have accessory for anyone that has tight sore spots in the body. Much more portable than the electronic massager, you can keep one at work, in your bag or in your car so you have one wherever you go. I never go on holiday without one of these in my suitcase. If you've tried massage with tennis balls with me in my classes, I talk about using the firmer balls for a deeper massage. The fitness mad pack of 3 are a great deal. As you have a few you don't have to remember where you have put it, and you can keep them in multiple places. |
